Songs that make you cry...
by El Kabong ini've been kind of sad the past few days for several reasons, but, there are certain songs that just cause the tears to flow whenever i hear them (and especially alone).
only time by enya.
i know that this song is often linked to the sept 11 attacks, but it really is just so hauntingly beautiful.

Had a funny day told a guy to go away
by hambeak insome guy came in today and his audi is using oil as most do.
he was upset i charged him for 2 quarts.
he swung at me and i stepped away and told him to have a good day.. as he left the shop he ran against a red light and got hit broadside i laughed like crazy .

First, what makes him think he doesn't have to pay for two quarts and secondly what makes him think he has the right to take a swing at you, Third what the hell makes him think he can run a red light. It sounds to me that we're dealing with a guy who doesn't realize that actions have consequences. If you help a guy like that it will only reinforce his self image of grandiosity and he won't learn anything. Do you think he learned anything after his accident. I doubt it! I think you did the right thing. It was his own bad energy turning on him.

Do you believe in God? oR Jesus?
by themonster123 inso....do any of you believe in some person in the sky floating around called jesus?
or having a relationship with that person (or god) who is in some other dimension apparantly?
being a witness, they stressed so much having a relationship with "jehovah" and all that.

I need proof to beleive there's a God who cares. When he decides to stop playing games, then I'll beleive.

I'd say his chances of getting reelected would be excellent, seeing as how he doesn't even make appearances or say anything and everybody trusts him implicitly. Hell, he doesn't even do anything and lets evil thrive and people continue to support and make excuses for him. He just can't do any wrong! So in my opinion, there will always be a support base for a figment of peoples imagination.

Some outrageous counsel I received once ...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles ini was reading an earlier thread about ridiculous counsel and i just had to share this one with everyone.. you know how sometimes around christmas time merchandisers would package their products in a more "festive" wrapper?
the largest bread company here does that every year.
well one yuletide season (when i was about 7 years old), i was helping myself to a couple slices of bread and my aunt saw me.

Sounds like she could use some counselling herself. It so sad when people make mountains out of complete tripe and rob others of joy. I still blame the watchtower though, they are the kings of the nut farm.

Last night I got my invitation to attend the Memorial. Anyone else?
by Rayvin inlast night around 6 pm my door bell rang and it was a witness handing out nicely done invites to the neighborhood.
my dad still hasn't been notified about it yet.
he is only aware of it through another person just mentioning it.

It's truly amazing but I attened the Sunday meeting to see my fathers talk, and I didn't get one. Got lots of hugs etc. Even the PO came to talk to me ,and ask if I was going to the assembly. I bluntly said "No I don't think so. I have been out for 20 years and I'm only here to support my dad." I didn't let anyone get to me. You just wouldn't beleive how small the attendance was. Absolutly no more than 35 people and the singing was weak spirited, if not almost non existant. One more thing, I almost needed a paramedic to bring me back to consciousness during the watchtower study. It was the most god awful boring thing I have ever sat through. I don't know how those people can sit through that crap every Sunday.
Oh wait there is one more thing, I have been out of the org over 20 years now and not one stinkin thing has changed that I could see. I will never attend the memorial!

INTELLIGENT ANSWERS to STUPID QUESTIONS. Give yours!
by Terry in1.what color is four?.
2. can you be enraged and outraged at the same time?.
3. is life being "broadcast" by the universe and we are merely "tuned" to our own particular channel?.
-

1. Four isn't a colour
2. Yes it's the same thing
3. The universe is a conscious collective with many channels, trying to tune in at the same time. All forms of consciousness amount to the universe trying to understand itself. Since we don't exist in one body, I'd have to the above statement is correct.
4. I didn't see any dividing line in the words you typed Terry. You must have made a mistake.

Should I Stay or should I go?
by Tyrone van leyen ini have been pondering a dilema.
it is one which has repeated itself many times over the years.
my parents have been helping me, and being very nice to me in the last couple of years.

Great feedback here. I love plugging into the collective mind of people that can understand the dilema. It makes me feel more sure of myself. I think I will go with all this in mind.
Oh ya Junction Guy, they sure no how I feel about it. I've been saying it to them more or less for the last 20 years. It never mattered, and they never change, but I will make myself clear and take some of the suggestions here on how to go about it.
Thank you for your input on these matters to all. Anyone that wants to put any further considerations I will read. I think I can still maintain my calm and be sure of what I am. This realy helps clear matters in my head.

Yes you speak very clearly Hortensia, and your right it is very sick, and that thinking of theirs has been going on for the last 25 years. They even talk that way with my brother and their grand daughter.
Your absolutely right it's a game and I don't think they will tire of it any time soon. If I won a lottery, I think I would disappear like Like David Blaine.

That sounds pretty good six of nine! I just have to make clear it's a one time thing, but I know they will totally disregard that, They will see this as a victory over Satan.
